We Have to Talk About Kevin (Jack's Review)

Tilda Swinton's performance is amazing. She can convey complex emotion and evoke oceans of empathy with subtle glances and the manner in which she carries herself. The filmmaker effectively uses flashbacks to make the construction of the storytelling quite compelling. There was a major flaw however, in the flashbacks to the early years. The director inexplicably left out the scene where the rogue Italian priest switches Tilda's baby in the hospital for the one whose real mother was a possessed dog. At least the John C. Reilly character met his just reward as is tradition for such obviously clueless characters in the horror genre.
